Program Levels & Progression

Beginner

Students start by learning how Chinese characters are formed — not just memorizing, but understanding structure and meaning.

Through hands-on activities, children develop early recognition skills and begin connecting characters to words and ideas.

Building the foundation

Intermediate

At this stage, students move beyond individual characters and begin reading short passages.

They learn how to understand meaning, follow context, and engage with written Chinese more independently.

Developing real reading ability

Advanced

Students read longer texts and stories, combining language with imagination and cultural understanding.

They begin to interpret, discuss, and express ideas — moving toward full language fluency.
